    Oil burner whining noise
I recently purchased a home with an oil fired steam boiler that is about 10 years old. The unit was recently serviced and runs well. There is a high pitch whining noise that is constant when the unit is firing. I want to minimize the noise.

The noise starts at the burner and resonates along the hard copper oil line that runs back to the oil tank.

    1. Is this noise normal?
    2. Has anyone had experience with trying to install some sort of sound attenuation?

The noise is not normal. Hard copper, as in pipe with solder connections?

Hi everyone! When at idle, a whirring or 'rubbing' sound can be heard coming from the distrubutor harness. The sound comes and goes at idle, and may get loud. When moving, I don't hear it much. When the sound is heard, the distrubutor harness shakes somewhat. Power is good, no stalling,...
