Uses of schedule 40 PVC pipe
    A couple of questions:

    1. Can/should schedule 40 glueless PVC pipe be used for natural gas on 1000 ft run?

    2. I am told that natural gas lines have to be marked with wire wrap. If so, what kind of wire.

    3. Can water and gas lines be safely placed in the same trench?

    Thanks

    Hi Mcglawn

Each states codes regarding this will differ from state to state so you need to ask these questions to your local plumbing and gas inspector.

However, as far as I know:

    1) Depends on codes in your area

    2) Yes, minimum gauge copper tracer wire is #18 wire (most states)

    3) No, not anywhere that I know of.
