    60 day notice in AZ
Hi, I rented an apartment for two months. The lease says I need to give 60 days notice. While I am sure I gave them the notice the day I signed the lease, but I don't have a copy of the notice and now my apartment agency says I owe them 60 days rent. I got a copy this time though. What are my options. They sent me any reminder on my lease ending or not giving them vacate notice.

Did you sign a lease or give them notice... if you signed a lease renewal you are on the hook for a lot more than 60 days if they have trouble renting it out.

I signed a lease that expires on 12/02/13. I gave the notice today, so they need me to pay till 1/2/14. I believe I gave them the notice when I signed the lease for 2 months on 10/03/13. However I don't have a copy of that and they claim I never did it. I have been staying in this complex for last 9 months and have gave 60 days notice before also. That's the reason I strongly believe I did it when I signed this 2 month lease. But unfortunately I don't have any proof. Do I have any other option.

Its going to be on you to prove you gave it... and without a delivery notice you sent it... its going to be next to impossible to prove you gave it then.

Incidentally... you don't get to invoke a 60 day notice 9 months into a 12 month lease... I can see a 2 month extension.. I can see it at 10 months that you intend to leave at the end of your lease... the standard leases are 12 months periods..

In the future I would recommend keeping a copy.. as well as the receipt for a Post office with a registered letter with a return receipt you can staple to it... it will have every date and signature you might need. And the cost is negligible instead of calling them..or simply dropping it off..

I'm not so sure on this one. Signing a 2 month extension to a lease is pretty clear that you were going to vacate after 2 months. If they take you to court on it, I think they will lose. But I can't guarantee it. If you can stay for the next two months then I would do so.

30 days from today, November 4 will be December 4
30 days from December 4 will be January 3.

So, as I calculate it, 60-days from today will be January 3
