Air conditioner

Can anyone help me? I have had my aircon serviced and checked- the tech says it's fine but it cools but doesn't bring the temp down to what you set it- the thermostat never clicks off. The unit is oversized for the room and it used to work fine. What could be wrong? Thanks! Robin
