    How can my son change the name on his birth certificate?
    My son wants to change the name on his birth certificate. What are the formalities for changing his name?

    Normally not by changing the BC. Instead, he would file a name change application with the court where he lives. If he is under age, you would have to file the application for him.

    How old is he and why does he want a change? Any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.
