Don't get an epidural? There are other forms of pain management during child birth. Do a little research and I am sure you can come up with an alternative.
You don't need to have an epidural, it has just become almost a default when it comes to giving birth. |

There are other choices, like Craven said. With my first baby, I was given a paracervical block which worked just fine and dandy (but I don't know if those are still given). With my second baby, I had had Lamaze and didn't need anything until the very end (not an epidural). Ask your OB what your options are.

Anyone else experiment back pain after receiving and epidural? First one only took to one side so I was given another one but now a month later I notice I have a sharp pain on the opposite side of my spine that the epidurals were placed.
