Don't get an epidural? There are other forms of pain management during child birth. Do a little research and I am sure you can come up with an alternative.

You don't need to have an epidural, it has just become almost a default when it comes to giving birth.

There are other choices, like Craven said. With my first baby, I was given a paracervical block which worked just fine and dandy (but I don't know if those are still given). With my second baby, I had had Lamaze and didn't need anything until the very end (not an epidural). Ask your OB what your options are.

I have been married for 6 months now and starting to think I want to start trying to get pregnant. I am bothered by the thought of how painful labour is because I have a very low tolerance to pain.
