I left my wedding and engagement ring to be resized at a large reputable jewelry chain. They took over 8 weeks and when I called they only had fixed my engagement ring. The shop assistant was very apologetic and promised that she would make sure my wedding ring would be fixed urgently and would take only two weeks.

After almost weeks went by I rang and asked if the ring was ready yet, thegirl said she would check and ring back. She rang me the next day to explain that my ring has been lost! The girl was very apologetic and promised they would do everything to find the ring. They have now said it is very unlikely to turn up and said they will do whatever they can to make it up to me. The thing is that I am truly devastated, how can you replace something that holds such sentimental value? I don't want to come across as a greedy diva but really - how to replace a wedding ring? What is a fair amount of comphensation for this?

Does your spouse have a matching ring? If so, have them bring it and let them take photographs and create a duplicate.
