New kitchen tap doesn't stop dripping for 10 secs?
I ordered the SOLACE Joyou (http://www.joyouinternational.com/en/40/kitchen-mixers/cosmopolitan/solace/) kitchen mixer taps and had them fitted by a large established plumbing company. I am experiencing a problem with the cold tap not shutting off immediately. It runs on for about 10 seconds afterwards (this runs approx. 40ml of extra water). I have had the company back out and they said that because of the design of the tap (large loop), this holds water after it is shut off and it is this water that is running out.
I know nothing about plumbing but this does seem odd to me and isn’t great at ‘water saving’. Strangely the hot tap shuts off immediately?
Are they correct on what they are saying or should I get them back out again to look at it.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance. Best regards

Large loop type faucets are kind of famous for continuing to drip a bit after shutting them off, but, if the hot water is not doing it then I have to question the plumber's explanation a bit, right?

What did the plumber say when you told him that the hot water wasn't doing the same thing as the cold water?

    Thanks Mark for your help.

I did ask them why it wasn't affecting the hot tap and they said that the hot comes from a separate tube which is inside the cold? Again I have no technology knowledge to know if what they are saying it right or not.

Appreciate your advice with this? What do you think?

Dripping kitchen hot tap makes a loud noise when other taps are used. [ 1 Answers ]

Hi The hot tap at our kitchen sink has started making a loud humming noise whenever other taps in the house are used. I've been told it needs a new seal but as I don't know the make or model of the taps, I won't be able to get the correct part and my only option is to buy new taps. Is this true?...
