I have been taking Lutera for about 4 months. I never miss a pill and take it at the same time every night. Recently, I had a bacterial infection and was on Flagyl antibiotics for 10 days. My doctor said nothing about it affecting my birth control and I found a lot of newer research showing the antibiotic/bc interactions are not really true. That being said, I'm still worried because I always heard that antibiotics would "cancel out" because pills. My boyfriend and I did not use a backup method on Oct. 1st. Yesterday (10/12) I started having brown discharge. Today it was brown with some bright red mixed in. My placebo week starts tomorrow (10/14) and I usually start my period on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. I have some breast tenderness, but they are nearly always tender while I've been on Lutera. Could I be pregnant and experiencing implantation bleeding or is this a weird early period?

Could be a weird period. Best ot wait and see if you actually miss your period. If you won't see your period 2 weeks after expecting it, then take a HPT. The best way at this point.

Anti-biotics do affect Birthcontrol. So there is a chance but a small one.

Thank you for your response. Turns out, I was just being a huge worry-wart. All is well, and we will definitely be more careful next time.
