My baby sister is made to cry herself to sleep and I am not allowed to rock or sing her to sleep, she is basically isolated from everyone else and gets no love or attention when she tries to sleep. I just recently moved back into my mom's house and have been the one to take care of her and show her love, she is my pride and joy, and no one else seems to have any time for her unless it is to yell at her or spank her for not laying down or not doing something simple. My mother would never let me jut adopt her, I need some advise please.

Call CPS. Show that your sister is being neglected and harmed by your mother.

Since you live there too, it's unlikely that she would be placed in your care.

If you feel she is truly being harmed, then you need to contact Child Protective Services. Or the police.

Also... as the mom of a 2 year old... are you sure this is neglect (at bedtime)? Sleep training is HARD. Children need to be taught to self-soothe to sleep, or when they wake up in the middle of the night (and all small children do this), they cannot get to sleep on their own and require someone to sing or rock or whatever got them to sleep in the evening. Are you sure that your mom is not simply trying to train her to sleep on her own? Have you talked to your mom about this?
