    Is desitin need a prescription or it is over the counter?

    It's an over the counter ointment that is readily available at most pharmacies.

    As it's a Barrier cream it is freely available over the counter.

I've been trying the suggestion of using desitin for a few days now and have a burning sensation each time. Wasn't sure if I should try and stick it out or stop. Any advice?
