People making fun of my boyfriend and me
Hello there. I'm Kenzi_Woods and I'm in the 8th grade. I've had lots of little boyfriends when I was in the 5th grade, but now I've found somebody I really, REALLY like! We have been dating for a month now and people have been taunting us from day one.
We were keeping it a secret, until he told my best friend and told her to keep it a secret and she went and told some blabber-mouth in my class and she decided to yell (I'm not using my boyfriends name, but I'll say mine) "Mackenzie and Bob are going out everyone!" during recess period. People started to talk about it, and some didn't say very nice things! First 'Tara' (What I'm going to call one of the girls) said "Ew, I feel bad for Bob, dating that ugly rat" (I heard this with my own ears) then blabber-mouth said "Yeah, we should break them up" however I didn't hear this, my best friend did, but I don't want to jump to conclusions.
What do I do? I don't want to tell, because that seems stupid, but I'm not going to break up with him either, because he's a good person and I like him a lot.

This is middle school theatrics. If you two like each other and you're going to stay together, what does it matter what they say? Why was this a secret anyway?
This all goes to prove why dating at this age is not good.

It was all a secret because we've dated each other before and we had broken up when people started to poke fun at us and put us down, so we decided not to tell anyone.
And please don't tell me what age is right for dating, because if I had ask "What age is right for dating?" Then sure you could say that, but stay on topic please, I don't want to be lectured.
Anyway, I just wanted to know what I could do to make them shut up, because it's been going on forever and it's kind of getting ridiculous. Yes, we both do like each other a lot, but you think we can stand people bullying us over, I don't think so!

There are ways to get people to stop this sort of behavior, but they take skills that are impossible to describe in 10 minutes or 10 hours even. That's why the older people here say that this is why pre-teens and even teens are going to have a very tough time dating.
I will say that as you age, more serious matters of life take over and things like this appear more and more childish and unimportant. They won't bother and you won't care, plain and simple.
A basic 'rule' of dealing with scorn is to ignore it, laugh at it, roll your eyes at how childish it is, at the very most say little things such as 'grow up' and 'get a life.' But it takes an incredible amount of emotional strength to not care, at a time in your life when you care very much.

First, you don't dictate who can respond to your posts and how. That you are about 13, right? "Dating" at this point is not real, What you children call dating is just hanging out. What you need to understand is that you and especially your peers, are not mature enough to handle real dating. That's why this taunting bothers you. When you get older, both you and your peers will grow out of this childish phase.
What you CAN do at this point is talk to your parents. You need to get their permission to date in any case. Then your parents can talk to school officials about the taunting. Schools, nowadays, are taking zero tolerance for this type of behavior and will probalby take some action.

Sadly, I wouldn't say this is true for many schools, from news I still hear across the country. In fact, this taunting in a school with serious bullying might be brushed off as trivial.

Why do they tease you and this particular guy?
Your age and the age of your peers do have a lot to do with this. It is why this seems to bother you so much and you tried to keep your dating a secret and you answered me as you did.
Ignore them.
