I just bought a 2000 Mercury sable. When pressing the lock/unlock buttons on the door or remote, doors do not lock or unlock. The motors or relays sound like the doors locked or unlocked, but they do not actually lock. Any ideas or suggestions?

My Sable tends to drip oil after we drive it,the drip seems like it is coming from the exhaust. The drip is very small ,in the morning there will be puddle about the size of a dime. The drip is coming from just beyond the oil pan in the ehaust.
