Furnace pilot doesn't light
Before doing some gas plumbing I turned off the main gas valve, together with the pilot lights for water heater and furnace. After finishing all the work, I turned gas back on but couldn't start pilot on the pretty old furnace Rheem 3240-80 HD. The low voltage seems to be created. I smell gas when attempting to light the pilot. Does there exist on the internet a repair guide for such an old model? I would like to locate the broken part to replace it or to troubleshoot it somehow. Thanks, h.

This is an older Interherm Gas Furnace. Inspector could not turn on the Furnace to check. Pilot light doesn't come on. Blower is blowing but air is not warm. Thermostat clicks but no effect. What could it be? Irene.
I changed my wires to the thermostat and I recently changed my pilot generator so why doesn't my pilot light stay lit and I hit the (valve box?) and it goes on but when I turn the furnace off the pilot light goes out awhile later.
Gas furnace doesn't come on the fan for fresh air/exhaust and pilot light comes on but gas valve not letting gas in to burner so it doesn't light,but if I turn off power and back on three or four times it will work until house cools and need heat again
