Finding out name for this grass
I have a decorative grass that I want to know about. This looks more like a bush than grass; it stands about 3' or just aittle more. It has purple thistles, & long thin blades that grow closely together. Can this be identified?

Trying to identify this bush looking, grass
I recently purchased a plant/bush, that was described by the store as grass. It currently stands about 3 ft high, and has long, green reeds, ending in purple thistles. This stands in a round cluster of reeds/thistles. Over a long period if time, a type of 'core' will grow in the middle. It's an attractive plant/bush in its early first years. I'd like to learn what it is so that I will know how to care for it.

The only thing I know that grows that tall would be pompas grass which can grow anywhere from 3' to 12'
