    Tearing during birth
I have a 13month old born after 39hrs of labor, almost 4 of which were pushing. She was 8-13 at birth, born by vac. Immediately after she delivered I lost a lot of blood. The next day in recovery the Dr informed me I had only 1 tear: on the left side of my vagina. She said it wasn't deep, that she didn't have to stitch through muscle, but it was long, starting at my cervix all the way out and was difficult to reach with the needles. She stated perineum was in tact. However I was continuing to lose too.much blood over night and required a transfusion. I remained in severe pain for several weeks. I returned to the Dr for my official post partum check up at 3mos. Husband and I demanded to go over the delivery notes with her. In her notes, she had the left side tear and a 2nd deg perineal tear. A few more months went by and I was still in pain so I got a second opinion. That doctor confirmed the left side tear, but said my perineal was 3rd deg and my right side tore too. A 3rd Dr confirmed the 2nd opinion.
So my question is, with all the pain I was in, loss of blood, and the fact my delivering ob ddidn't have accurate notes of the damage, is it possible she didn't stitch the right side? Could it have healed on its own? And is it at all common to not see a tear when there is so much bleeding?
