You have a blockage in the drain line after the washer. Washers have a lot of water volume with lint and if you have an older house with only 1 1/2" lines they will more easily clog. Find the cleanout for the drain and either auger it yourself or hire a plumber.

    Hi Doug

Is the washing machine, sink and bathtub(s) in the basement (or lowest level of the home)? If these fixtures are the lowest fixtures in the home then I suspect a partial blockage of your MAIN DRAIN LINE.

Here, a partial blockage of a main drain line will not necessarily show up until you use a large volume of water quickly... like using a washing machine or draining a full tub... ;)

A main drain blockage will require you to rent a main drain sewer machine or to call a local plumber.

Answer my question and we'll see what we think about things after that, OK?
