Hot water heater does not work in winter
    Hello,

I live in a condo with the hot water heater inside my condo.

During the wintertime, I run out of hot water very quickly. For example, I cannot run a load of laundry and take a shower on the same day. Note that I did not say "at the same time", but on the same "day". I will run out of hot water during the shower.

I do not have this problem in summer. During the summertime I have endless hot water, and it is not "warm" water coming from the city, it is "HOT" water.

An electrician checked the electric circuitry on the outside of the heater as well as the temperature setting and said that everything was in working order.

What could be causing my problem?

The water heater holds 40 gallons. It is about 9-10 years old.
