Severe tooth pain in lower left jaw, only remedy is cold drinks
I've maybe slept 3 or 4 hours in the past 3 days due to the severity of the pain coming from my teeth on the left side of my jaw, I've tried everything - vanilla extract, toothpaste, warm salt water, salt in teeth, I've tried applying heat packs and ice packs to the cheek where the pain is coming from, taken many advil and even a T3 or two, but nothing's even slightly taken away the pain except for rinsing cold water and cold milk in and around my mouth and the infected area. It's 5:20am and I've yet to fall asleep due to the pain once again and I'm awfully tired and sluggish during the day due to this.. Does this sound like an abscessed tooth? What should I do? The closest dentist appointment available is later in the week.. I can't stand this pain it's unbearable. If anyone knows what to do it would be greatly appreciated!!

Call the office back and tell them the pain is unbearable. They will fit you in somehow, or you can ask for a call if someone cancels or doesn't show. Tell them how long it takes you to get there. You would be able to see an abscess or infection from something caught in your gum, so if you don't see swelling or redness, it sounds like regular nerve exposure from cavities.

Okay thank you! There's no swelling or redness, but the pain is now on the complete left and right side of my mouth and also my front teeth. The cold water isn't helping anymore and there's no way to stop the pain.. I'll definitely give them a call back! Thanks again!

There are emergency 24 hour dentists available in many areas also.
They may be quite expensive but an option for many. Good luck.

Hi, thanks for helping, but keep an eye on when a question was asked. This person was able to see a dentist 'later in the week' and that was over two weeks ago.
