    Getting creditors off back
Does this include a payment to the debt collector cause I paid them $100.00 dollars to get them off my back. They have been called my step sister whom I don't have contact with and I have NO idea how they got her number. Is there anything she can do to make them stop calling her? It is quiet embarrassing... Any advise is greatly appreciated!!

First, its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread, especially a 4 yr old one. To avoid confusion I've moved your post to its own thread from here.

I'm not clear what you are referring to by "include". If you paid anything to a debt collector you have reactivated and affirmed the debt.

You can request that the creditor only contact you by mail and not contact anyone else.

Since this is the "Bankruptcy & Debt" Forum, a reasonable assumption would be that OP is asking whether she should include this payment in her bankruptcy schedules and statements. The answer would be "yes".

And if my assumption is correct, such phonecalls would be a violation of the Automatic Stay if bankruptcy.

You do not pay collectors to get them off your back. Paying anything mire or less reopens your debt and resumes payments.

Yes. Paying them anything reinstates the statute of limitations on that debt.
