    How time in jail and time in prison calculate in California
    A friend got sentence in California with a mister minor (domestic violence) and a felony (for vandalism over $400.00) the judge sentence him to two years in prison but since he has been in jail awaiting his sentence for three and a halve months the judge gave him seven months credit but I heard that if you do your time in prison that the calculation is different if anyone knows please let me know thanks in advance.

    The word is "misdemeanor".
