How do I convince my dad to let me get my tongue pierced?
Ok, so I'm 13 almost 14. I have my nose, my first & second holes, my cartilage, my lip, my bellybutton, and industrial done. Both my parents gave me permission to get all my piercings, I've been wanting my tongue done for a while now. So recently I asked my parents if I can get my tongue pierced, I told them that I would pay for it myself. My mom is perfectly fine with letting me as long as my dad also gives me permission. I explained to him why I want the piercing and facts about it. But he said no. HELP!

Okay, I'll help you. Tell him that you can cover your own dental insurance. Tell him that it doesn't cause breaks and chips in your teeth. Tell him that giving oral sex is important to you and that you will get a job in a fortune 500 company with a tongue piercing. Better yet, tell him you want your mouth to look like this...

That's because they haven't been inside your mouth.
Oh, and J_9 didn't mention the speech problems.

You don't know me or what I've done in my life & the speech problems only last 2 weeks, they're not permanent

You are 13. Dad said no. We are parents and aren't going to assist you in ruining your teeth.

No, I don't know you, but I've had 4 children your age. There is only one reason for a tongue piercing and you are too young for that.

Actually, yes, they can be. My neighbor's son was let go from his fast-food job because customers couldn't understand him when he asked for their order. His tongue piercing wasn't new. He finally had to get it removed so he could get a job. He said food kept getting caught around the stud, so he was glad it was gone.

My point is...
Dad said no, apparently he is smarter than Mom. We aren't going to tell you how to convince your Dad.

Apparently you strive to work at McDonald's when you grow up.

She might be interested in getting a job at one of those Christmas stores because the stud in her tongue piercing will be clinking and clicking against her teeth when she talks and will sound like merry little bells of the season. That's how my neighbor's son sounded -- rather disconcerting until you get used to it.

Jingle bell tongue piercing. How would one even understand what she was saying between the jingles and the jangles?

I understand that. I wouldn't think you are 13 going on 57. You are 13 and too young to understand the implications (do you know what implications means?) of having a tongue piercing.

She did say, "Uhmmm, I don't suck thats nasty " but guys will elbow each other and grin slyly and nod knowingly and hope they get a turn.
When you're an adult, then you can decide if you want a tongue piercing -- and I'm guessing by them you will wonder whatever possessed you to even consider it.

Tell them that all of your previous piercings have worked out fine, you obviously know what your doing. You're actually very lucky, my mum said no to cartilage and I still have my 1st lobes at 13 years old. Parents say things for reasons. Sometimes 'teen vision' is that they're just mean and annoying. They just want to ruin your life. But they don't. Think about it. All the piercings so far you've wanted - and got and they ONLY say no to this one? There is a reason for that! Ask them to tell you the reason and when you know the reason work around it
Good luck xx but don't forget the risks posed to you and your health.
