    Am I pregnant?
If any of you ladies have experienced this, I could really use your input! I have no idea what's going on...

I'm on cycle day 18, I had my last period which seemed fairly normal, but I've been having a lot of early pregnancy symptoms, which doesn't make any sense having had a period. I've been very nauseous, really hungry, very tender/sore breasts, been fatigued, been really emotional (like PMS) and had a lot of cramping (almost like period cramping). I've also had bleeding when I brush my teeth and really sensitive skin, which I've read can be a sign of pregnancy. My sense of smell has gone into overdrive - things I used to love to eat I can't bear to smell and the scent of cigarettes makes me feel nauseous. My partner and I had sex 4 days before my period (and I think I ovulated late) and 2 and 5 days after. When we had sex several nights ago, I had to stop because I felt so nauseous. It's about 12 days weeks before my next period, and I don't know if there's any point taking a test at this point or if I should just wait? I know ovulation can cause some cramping (and I've had this before) but I've never had the other symptoms around ovulation before. According to my charting, I should have ovulated already this month, but instead of EWCM, I've had strange clear sticky discharge with white flecks, and white creamy discharge. I also keep finding my panties damp, as though I've wet myself, but I think it's just a clear watery discharge. I'm getting a bit nervous and the nausea is getting worse. What do you think? Should I take a test now or wait until closer to when my period is due? Thanks so much in advance!

Testing before you are 14 days LATE for your period is a waste of time.. as the results will usually result in a negative before then.

Are you keeping a basal temp chart to know when you actually ovulate? Or some other medical test?

Please don't say cell phone app... those are worthless.

And incidentally those aren't pregnancy symptoms... but incorrect assumptions passed down by word of mouth.

Cell phone app, I'm afraid. We weren't trying, so it was just for my general knowledge. I've been working it out based on EWCM.

Do you mean they're all not pregnancy symptoms?

I highly recommend doing some research for BASAL TEMPTERATURE CHART... if will let you know what you need and how to do it... its tedious... but you will be able to determine when you REALLY ovulate... Those apps make assumptions women all ovulate on the same day of their cycle which is a false assumption... women are very inconsistent from one to the next exactly what point their ovulation happens (some do when expected by the textbook... but not all do).

Being you are obviously having some difficulty... the Basal temp chart will help you peg this to a precise day.. which should help you achieve your goal.

It means they can all be attributed to other things... for the first few months of a pregnancy the only symptoms is a missed period... until several months later when visible changes to you breasts can be noticed... and it will be months before the fetus is has grown large enough to even have a bump. (medical tests are a lot more precise and accurate)

Most of the so called early pregnancy symptoms claimed... are not pregnancy specific... and most aren't even gender specific.

Some of them are signs, if you are two or three months pregnant, not a week or two.

There is nothing you can do at this point until you actually miss a period, and are at least 2 week late.

Yes, those are symptoms of pregnancy. They are also symptoms of premenstruation and a myriad of other illnesses.

Those cell phone apps and internet tools are slightly helpful, however they are not nearly as accurate as tracking your ovulation using the basal body temperature method. The apps are based on mathematical formulas, thus leaving much room for error. The BBT method is based on symptoms, thus much more accurate.

Unfortunately you are now playing the waiting game and have to wait to see if your period comes as expected. If not, wait until you are two weeks late then test using first morning urine.
