Switching from cable to DSL phone lines
We will be switching this week from cable to DSL...

My question is this... with the phone line coming into the house from the main outside box, can I hook a connector to that line alone, and connect to computer directly from that line, or do I need to connect that line to a inside wall box, and plug into that and then the computer?

    Thanks

With DSL you connect a filter to you master socket INSIDE the house.
One side is for normal voice and the other is for your broadband connection.

Best NOT to start messing about with the external connection as this could cause a world of hurt.
