    Drain venting
    I do not see a vent pipe on the roof. Shower/sink make a noise when I flush.

    Most likely there is a vent somewhere . It may have been terminated in the attic or through the wall. How old is the house? Recently re -roofed? Doubt a permitted house would have been built without a main stack vent.

    How old is your house? Houses built back in the 20s and 30s had S traps with one 4inch roof vent. Look under a fixture and tell me it's pipe go into the wall or into the floor. Back to you, Tom

    Hey guys, my house was built around 1905. It had a fire in it in 1973 and stood empty until 1997. My brother decided to remodel the house from the foundation up.. It's been rue roofed, the pipes are cast iron and tericotta. He died and I have no idea about venting. I can get under the house. It's two story and I do see an S pipe on a drain that runs under the house. It is capped. Everything I see under the house is old. Don't know where to start...

    Back in the days is your house is built a four E. Main was worked throughout the basement and then up out of the roof. All fixtures connected to the stack using "S" traps, but under the sink, does the pipe runs into the wall or into the floor? Back to you, Tom
