    Cold air return cover
Ok, strange occurrence- I went outside and heard a crash. When I came back inside the cold air return cover was across the room upside down. What could have happened? Our air conditioning seems okay.

Screwed into drywall, screws came loose and fell off. Was this a big central return?

Not in the wall, laying flat on hard wood floor with no screws. It was propelled 4 feet and landed upside down.

Yes, about 4 ft. I was not in the room at the time but came in right away after I heard it. Not an animal... can't find one... Haunted.

I know. Our AC guy is coming out tomorrow just to check but we can't figure it out. He thinks I am imagining things... I swear it happened. Oh well. All is good. Thank you for the replies. Have a good evening.

Ok, here it is, we think the dog saw a bug or something and got her toenail caught and flipped it out. I think the mystery is solved. She won't say either way but seems the only solution. : )
