    Electrical switch box height from floor garage
    Can you mount the electric switch box in a garage at 55'?

    Typically, a switch is mounted 48" above the finished floor to the center of the device box. That would mean that the top of the box would be at 50" and the bottom of the box would be at 46".

    You can put it anywhere you want. Code does not specify height.

    I bet you have no problem with putting a lift in a garage with ceilings that high. LOL

    Actually, it depends on what you mean by "the electric switch box". You don't mean the breaker panel, do you?
