CRV AC question follow-up (compressor acceleration cut-out)
Captain Rich answered a question with an image in this thread -
    https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/cars-t...ng-702500.html
It references "image 10-9b" which may help answer mine.
    Background -
I had to pull to the side of a busy highway for a moment in my 2003 CRV. To re-merge with traffic I had to accelerate quickly and the AC compressor "cut out" as it always does (is designed to do) on hard acceleration, only this time the compressor did not re-engage after reaching a level speed. The "old way" was to monitor manifold vacuum for the switch point. I don't know what the (computerized) "new way" is.
I have checked all the obvious things (fuses/relays/connectors) up to and including pulling the negative cable to reset the ECU. The green AC light toggles as it should, and the idle increases when it "thinks" the comp is on. The condenser fans do turn on/off with the AC switch as they should as well. It appears the clutch should be powered the same as the condenser fans, except during an acceleration event. I can't get to the compressor terminals to power the clutch directly to check it's function. I could test it from the nearest junction point at/near the fuse panel but the schematic doesn't show that part of the control circuit, nor the acceleration cut out mechanism(s).
I have had this same issue two other times last summer, but the system did return to normal and has worked fine since.
Based on this I highly suspect the "acceleration cut out" circuitry. A means to test/power the clutch without disassembling the front air dam would be very helpful.
Any/all comments and suggestions highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Stan

Starting a new thread is not going to work. You have to post this response within the thread the question originated.

I was making reference to that thread, specifically the diagram for the controls that was posted. My issue is not the same so I opened a new thread rather than hijacking that one... (it's old, but it's still not polite)

The OP of that thread had an evaporator fan issue. Mine is the AC clutch, or more likely the acceleration cut out control.

Does that not warrant a new thread?

I do need to add that I did check the pressure but since the compressor is idle the system is balanced. At ~88°F I have just over 100 psi... pretty close for R134A

It supposed it could be the low pressure switch failed, just a coincidence it happened during an acceleration cutout... possible, but again, where is the switch. I didn't see it anywhere on the suction line. I read somewhere today to look on/at the coil for it... lovely... lol. I'll have to wait to do that when I get off work.
    Thanks,
    Stan
