Contrary to right wing myth, undocumented immigrants DO pay taxes..
Hello:
Study: Undocumented immigrants paid $292M in state, local taxes in 2010
That can't be so, can it? I thought they were takers..
And, that's only my state. If you multiply that by 50, you get over $14 BILLION. And, that's only state and local taxes. Can you imagine how much they pay in FEDERAL INCOME taxes??

I don't believe I've ever said they don't pay taxes. They can get DL's and SS numbers so they're pretty much citizens anyway.

Of course they have to pay taxes unless they work under the table, own a convenience store or make money illegally

The dark side of all this is that a few 'addresses' are 'home' to thousands of tax refunds that those undocumenteds never see. A few fat cats, as usual.
I saw links on Facebook but it was so depressing I don't feel like finding them again.
Why the IRS can't flag millions in piddly refund checks going to ONE ADDRESS is beyond me.

They illegally entered .then they did identity theft to get someone else's SS # ,then they illegally misrepresented themselves to an employer to get a job .if they are driving it's either without a license ;or one they obtained using fraudulent id ;and with that license they can misrepresent themselves on a motor voter registration form (which you know goes by an honor system... "I swear the information is true yada yada).
So if they are paying local sales taxes for their dos XX excuse me if I'm not impressed.

Actually the corrupt IRS has taken that into consideration and has addressed the issue of illegals paying income taxes.

Now excon touts all the tax revenues the state collects . But what about the outlays due to the illegal population in the state ?
•The state's taxpayers bear an annual burden of more than $2.7 billion as a result of an estimated 275,000 illegal aliens plus nearly 104,000 U.S.-born children of illegal aliens of whom about 78,000 are school-aged.
•The combined K-12 fiscal burden for the children of illegal aliens in regular instruction and supplemental instruction amounts to nearly $1.6 billion annually.
•Justice and law enforcement costs result in a net outlay of about $176 million. These outlays include policing, court and prison costs.
•Health care and social assistance programs add additional costs of $652 million.
•The average Washington household headed by a U.S. citizen bears an annual burden of about $970 to cover the costs of the state's illegal alien population.
•Illegal aliens pay relatively little in taxes because of their low earnings and work in the underground economy. We estimate they pay about $203 million in state and local taxes — 7.4 percent of the estimated burden.

'They' this and that. Like any 'group,' they vary considerably. Where my brother lives, they are the only ones who will muck stalls and tend animals at 4 am. In croplands, they are the only ones who bend over in the heat and rain all from dawn until dusk and live in shacks on top of each other so that WE can have fresh produce. Where I live, they work all the menial jobs. Washington knows this because they hire them too, to be their nannies and housecleaners and gardeners. Either cheaper than anyone else, or no one else will do it period. Of course there are deadbeats. Every wave of immigrants legal or illegal has them. I don't know how many of my ancestors were legal.
I look at the pictures of bodies in the Rio Grande and the desert and in the poorly hidden compartments of trucks and all I can say is 'there but for God am I' and that's just a saying, because I don't believe God has anything to do with it, including letting the rich well-oiled drug runners get through while we go after the ones who spent their meager life savings to someone for that one chance.

Hello again,
MOST of the people who cross the border do so for work.. They pick your vegetables, they wash your dishes, and they make your beds.. As I've shown, they also pay their taxes.
Given that Americans won't pick the vegetables, they'd ROT on the vine without undocumented workers... We've had experience to that effect in Alabama when they passed a draconian immigration law.. All the illegals left the state, and the crop rotted.. That ain't good for us. Personally, I LIKE fresh spinach.
Of the 11 million of them here, I'd say 10 million of them are good "citizens". It's easy to talk about 10% of them.. Of course, 10% of Americans are scumbags too..
On balance, I'd say we benefit from illegal immigration..

Yeah, they work hard, to make a living AND while everybody argues over the 'illegals' few realize it was the Republicans admin. That messed up the Mexican economy with NAFTA which is forcing them to come here. Like I keep saying the 2 parties are an illusion.

Living wage is stupid. The store pays the stock boy a living wage so he can afford to buy the groceries that the store jacked the prices up on to afford to pay the stock boy.

I seem to remember that being called enterprise or the american way once defended by Superman, the all american myth. Tom would call it capitalism and defend it to the last breath

Nope ;aint nothing wrong with LEGAL immigration. My ancestors came through Ellis Island screening before they were allowed to take another step on American soil. They didn't sneak across the border .Their first act in their new country was a LEGAL one .

I do think that so called living wage is a poorly conceived idea. But it's the left that champions it on one hand while encouraging people to cross the border to work substandard wage work . Another variant of this is them complaining about work outsourcing to low wage worker exploited 3rd world nations while promoting low wage exploitation here in the guise of "Immigration".

Please don't confuse me with your right wing friends I have always defended a fair minimum wage. The right side of politics in my country is very different to the right side in yours; for us liberalism coincides with fairness where as the left is extremely socialistic. Our right wing are rabid, a little like your Tea Party but extremely militant, these are people like Hanson and Katter who are known for their extreme right views and the founding of fringe political movements. They would remove everyone from the government teat and allow the have's to pillage at will, a carnage in the streets approach favoured by some in your political sphere
