    Goodmsn split unit
I have a Goodman Split unit. When breaker is on, Air runs none stop (both fan & compressor). Disconnected digital thermostat, after swapping out with a confirmed working stat. Anyone got an idea?

I'd get a HVAC pro to check it out... could be control board.. it might be low refridgerant (something you can't do yourself)

I would start by taking the cover off the access panel on the outdoor unit. Look at the contacter and see if it appears to be "stuck" closed. If the contacts are indeed closed, check for 24v to the contacter coil (this is where the stat wires from the indoor unit hook). If there is 24 volt present, then your problem lies inside the home, either in the furnace, stat, or stat wires between furnace and stat. If there is not 24v present and the contacts are still closed, you have a stuck contactor in which case the best remedy is to replace it. You can kill the power to the outdoor unit and try to clean the actuall contacts, but all in all, for the price of a new one, replacing is cheap insurance.

A/c split unit [ 1 Answers ]

Hi my a/c split unit will not run, it has two capacitors for the fan units, and following power problems and a possible surg of power back on. The 240 volts are OK on the supplies, but I also have 240 volts at the Nuetrals too, is this correct.
