If the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then I would replace the coil. ICMs and coils are responsible for most Hondas of this generation not starting.

I can not check through the cel.The cel light stays on all the time.I have been driving the car for years with the cel light on.We also checked continuity through through the coil.Had continuity but don't know the specs on the resistance of the coil.Would you still replace the coil?

Check for codes. Bench testing coils is pretty much a waste of time. Instead, I recommend replacing them every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.
