What are the chances that I will have to pay alimony?
My husband and I have been married for 23 years. During that time I went from being a stay at home mom to being a school teacher. He is a welder/fabricator. We own a home that is entirely in his name. My income is around $48,000 a year, his is roughly 21,000.

Your location is important. Many locations do not provide alimony to people who can be self-supportive. If he were a stay at home Dad with no education and never employed, yes, he would get alimony. However, since he does have a job and can be self-supportive, you may not have to pay a dime.
