    How do I regain my parental rights after forced to sign them away?
    At the time I was maried had 2 kids my husband killed our daughter we had together.my other daughter was from a previous relationship. I was in shock and dcfs said that they had taken my parental rights but they made me sign papers saying I gave them away. I was made to sign these under deress. I had my mom adopt her so I could get her back after the adoption but now she refuses to go trugh with the deal and it has put a wege between my family. Can someone help me please?

    You NEED an attorney. The attorney can try to determine if there was duress and maybe get the adoption overturned.

    The thing is, there was no reason to go through an adoption. Temporary guardianship or even custody would have been sufficient. So it may be shown that DCFS overstepped.

    But you need an attorney who is familiar with the system to help you.
