Have a 1952 american flyer train set in excellent condition. It is in the original packaging down to the original box it was shipped in from the manufacturer. It was only used under a Christmas tree for three seasons back in the late fifties... it still works just fine. What is something like this worth. It is the type that takes a smoke cartridge (pill) in the smokestack

That has got to be cool. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone here will be able to answer this question... at least not accurately. Maybe you could find someone in your area that is a train collector or even look for train clubs or groups around you. People like that are the ones that will likely be your best bet for an accurate appraisal.
