    Laptop doesn't boot up
    Hi,
    My HP Pavilion DV6 i7 just hangs on the "Starting Windows" screen.
    When using safe mode, it stops at a file called "aswRvrt.sys" and then just hangs.
    It seems like it might have something to do with Avast anti-virus.

    The PC hasn't been restarted in a while, so I don't know what I might have installed or changed since the last restart.


    Any way to solve this?

    When you turn on your computer continue hitting F8 or whatever function key you use to boot in to safe mode there should be another option to boot to last known good configuation. Might try that. If that doesn't work try the same thing except choose Disable Driver Signature enforcement. Hopefully one of those two options will help you.
