    More sewage pump ?
Looking at a home to purchase. Big manhole next to house (Zohler I believe). On the house next to it is mounted an alarm with red light. Why would this be needed in town? And an I asking for trouble?

I believe it is a force main for perhaps the neighborhood and the red light tells you it isn't working. Common along the coastal areas where it is hard to get slope. Only problem is losing power -no toilet usage.
