    How to install a washer drain above the washer
    How do I tie into the existing drain pipe above my washer? Currently the drain is going on to the floor, outside into a dry well. Not a good situation.

    You build a washer station, (see image) This must be connected to the main drain line. You must also vent the set up with a roof vent or a AAV. Good luck, Tom

    What material is the drain pipe above the washer made of and how high off the ground?

    The average washer pump will pump will pump up to a 8 foot head. How high off the floor is the drain you wish to connect to? Can you take a picture? Back to you. Tom

    I am wondering why the gray water to a dry well is a bad situation. I have seen it done in hundreds of homes.

    Good point, HM2007... I see no issue with a dry well setup either!

    Neither do In if the dry well was getting rain water instead of lint. Even septic tanks direct washer discharge to a grease trap before it reaches the septic tank. This is done so the lint doesn't clog up the drainfield. How long do you think it will take the lint to clog up a dry well? Calyxi, I think you had the right idea in the first place, Discharge into your sewer. Just a thought. Tom
