Gas in oil problem with Briggs Stratton 12.0 H.P. Model 284707
Changed oil + cleaned carb. Engine has burned a little oil in the past. Ran much better for quite a while but now it blew a ton of smoke struggled to stay running so I shut it down. Checked oil and level was high. I drained some oil + noticed it was thin + smelled heavily of gas. Lawn mower with 12.0 H.P. Briggs + Stratton Model 284707 Type 1148-E1

    Hi,
Need to change the oil again, clean the carb and replace inlet needle; maybe float as well if damaged.
    Peace,

Another 16HP Briggs Stratton Problem with oil [ 6 Answers ]

I over oiled my 16HP briggs. I looked online for some help and changed the sparkplugs and oil. The tractor still runs, but I get white smoke out of the exhaust. Will the smoke "burn Off" or should I replace the exhaust. The engine is a 402700 B&S from 1988. Looking for some answers. Thank you.
