How to ask
I never known my sister to have a boyfriend of some sort in her life. I was wondering if she was a lesbian . How do I ask someone that question without conflict of them hating me.

You don't ask. It's really none of your business.

Exactly! You do not ask. When and if she feels comfortable divulging that info she will share it. Until then you mind your own.
Just because someone isn't a serial dater, does not make them a lesbian. I have been single for quite sometime, and I assure you that does not make me a lesbian.

I agree that it is none of your business and that there are many reasons she might not date at this point in her life. Your first question should point to questioning her sexuality.
But if you do ask are you prepared for any answer she gives you? And what would you do with this piece of information anyway?

You the best thing you could do for your sister is to be there for hr no matter what and if she is she'll tell you someday. You don't ask people that.

Start conflict? No, because he wouldn't have even thought of it if you hadn't been wondering first.
I can talk to my sister about anything, and we are 3,000 miles apart. We would never have this problem because we already know so much about each other. If you were close to this sister, you wouldn't have to even wonder - you would know. Spend time getting to know her better!

You are talking to some other man, about her maybe being lesbian, I am sure you sister will appreciate you talking to people about her private life.
Again, it is none of your bsiness, if she is, and she wants you to know, she will tell you.

Yeah what he said. Very good point. You don't sound like you are being a good brother at this point.
