Bathtub water went overflow through kitchen light
I just realise my son heard something dripping in the kitchen. I realise I have left the bathtub water on I run upstairs quickly turn off tap and mop the floor it only just cover the bathroom floor but it had leak through the kitchen ceiling. Have turned off the power and quickly tooked off the light fixture (it long beam one) I have dried the bulb and cover for it and felt the ceiling it was warm but now it had cool way down.
Haven't turn on the light just worried that later when we need to turn the light it might blow or something else to it
I'm just wonder will it dried out by the end of day as it sunny out and warm today
    Thanks for helping
Everything in electrical is working except turning the kitchen light on

Let it dry another day or so and it should be OK.

    Thanks guys
I just got home to check to see if any water come through it hadn't drip anymore after I done the clean up this morning but the light don't work so I reckon the bulb might have gone I'm going to get new one soon when I get time as something else had happen with family member so I was back and forth from hospital
As it long beam I have unscrew the two on the panel and could see the wires how they were connected I felt just the inside of the panel was damp so I dried with towel carefully not touching the wires I have touch the wire to see if they were wet and they weren't as they the other end celining is slightly crooked so it running down to one end . Also I did all this with the light power off.
I can't see any staining in the ceiling so I think it was just overflow and gone through which I realise it was dripping
Won't do that again running the bath and left it tut tut at me.

I thought most tubs had overflow drains to prevent this?
Anyway, like others said, just let it air out a couple of days before you rewire the fixture. And Just a reminder, make sure the breaker is turned off before you reinstall the fixture.

    Thanks kyle
Yes it had got an overflow drain but I left it running bit longer
I would say it only leak through to the kitchen light about less than jug ful of water. I'm going to get new bulb hopefully tomorrow I hope it work
    Fingers crossed
