Crazy ex won't give DNA test, can my boyfriend be in trouble for back support?
If my boyfriends ex girlfriend refuses a DNA test of her child which could potentially be his, could she come after him later on down the road for child support if she decides to give him the satisfaction of a paternity test? She will not allow him to see his daughter.Could he be liable for child support payments down the road even if paternity has not been proven?

He should not be ordered to pay child support for a child that is not PROVEN to be his. How far back child support will go depends on where you are. Is he on the birth certificate, has he acknowledged paternity?

He can go into Court and get an order demanding DNA testing, visitation, whatever else he would like.

Was she crazy when he was having sex with her?

As Judy said, how far they will retroactively award support is dependent on local law. Generally they can only go back to the date the support petition was filed.

He can, of course, force a DNA test, but that would mean he has to take responsibility for the child.

She was completely nuts.Stopped birth control while claiming to be on it. But he has seen the little girl onces since she was born because the mother will not allow him alone with the baby or bring her over to our house. But,he was told that in PA the only way to petition for a DNA test is if he is attempting to put himself on child support, which I thought was a little odd.

If he wants to see the child, he goes to court for custody and visitation. She will probably counter with asking for support. This will force a DNA test and establish paternity. Whether PA courts will insist on awarding support to give him visitation I don't know, its not the usual way.

If he wants to be a part of his child's life, then he should want to financially support her as well.

Does he or does he not want to be in the child's life? I would rather request DNA and know now than later.
