    The Family Dog
I don't remember if it was a short or a movie... but it was a cartoon about this dog with a sharp shaped nose and he gets into trouble a lot. I remember he pooped in shoes and stuff... I don't remember if the people even talked. It was so random... anyone recognize my cruddy description? Almost positive it was called "The Family Dog"... trying to find it... anyone seen it for sale or download? I think it was made in the 80s... LOL

    Family Dog (87)
    NBC pilot
    Amazing Stories Episode #40

A long suffering dog (the little girl forces him to play dolly and dress-up, the young son is a cruel bully) comes up short when he must defend his home against two bungling burglars. The family returns home to find their belongings gone. The dog's taken to a special guard dog training camp where he's toughened up. When the burglars return to hit the house again, they find that the dog has become a much more vicious dog. The small dog bites one of the burglars and refuses to let go. He attaches himself leech-like to the burglars and they have no choice but to leave with him. The family's distraught when they come back home and find the dog has been taken. Eventually the dog causes the burglars to get caught and he becomes a hero.

It's pilot was first shown as an episode of NBC's Amazing Stories, and was later picked up by CBS as a series

I found something similar to straydog's answer in Wikipedia - complete with a picture: Family Dog (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you're interested in buying such things on DVD, Amazon is a great source, or if you live in Maine (as I do), there's a great store called Bull Moose that sells new and used copies of all types of music, books, movies, TV shows and games at very reasonable prices. I'm sure if you look around your area, you may find a store that does the same...

Hello all! When I was young, my family and I watched an animated short movie called The Family Dog. This one was about the dog eating too much and becoming insanely fat. The house was robbed as the dog was too fat to do anything about the robbers. Please help me find a copy! Thank You so much!
