I have some odd symptoms that my doctors and clinic can figure out if you'd like to read on... I'd appreciate any speculation/guesses you or associates could provide.

I began seeing my doctor about a year ago and I've visited around 6-7 times with next to no answers. I have little above average body type, have low to mid amount of exercise. Healthy organs (after a VERY expensive ultra sound) and have had my blood tested for several things.

I am only 22, and apparently have a little worse than hyper tension stage two. (according to my BP readings)

I don't do drugs, I drink very little alcohol and I don't smoke.

Before taking hydrochlorot 12.5mg, and 50mg losartan potassium, my blood pressure was around 180/90. Its been that way all through high school. Now in college I've maintained that same blood pressure and after taking my meds It's gone down around 20 points usually. Sometimes it gets back there unprompted.

My doctor is convinced that stress plays little factor to this ungodly blood pressure. I have several things that burden me such as very high levels of OCD concern maintaining personal item's position and other trivial things. Beyond this I have many trust issues due to relationship issues I've had in the past that have very much effected me.

On another physical note: I have shingles on my arms and legs from time to time which he informed me was little blood vessels busting. His nurse said they looked like chicken pocks (which they were not) just to give you an idea of the size. They come out when I'm in high stress or working hard or even sometimes completely unprompted. The are never completely gone.

He informed me they were from the blood pressure being so high, and he suggested I see an allergy doctor as his last 'lead' for the moment. After the whole ultra sound on my kidney's being a dead end I decided to cut my losses. I lost my insurance when I switched job and decided to cancel my appointment to the allergy doctor because it honestly just didn't seem logical to me. And I was broke.

I'm just wondering what is causing this? For a couple months I went on a hard diet (before seeing the doctors) and I felt great! But my blood pressure was sky high still. My diet had primarily spinish/salmon/other greens/small amounts of chicken breast without breading, and other healthy things. During this time I exercised a lot and lost a good bit of weight. But Like I said, blood pressure never changed.

Everything I've tried is ineffective. So I think the most logical thing for me to do would be to ask my doctor to increase the prescription. But I'm not looking for a crutch. I'm looking to explanations. I want to solve the problem and not let it linger. Is it just genetics? Besides the shingles I am physically 100% capable.

But I know if this continues I won't stay healthy.

I had a few unrelated symptoms I could mention just in case. (Watched way too many medical shows to not be paranoid to not give enough details)

On occasion (5-10 times a year) I hear a tingling sound go down my spine at random moments. I get random sneezing attacks in random places every couple months until my nose bleeds.(no one thing in common with the other such as weeds, pets and such)
Directly after my last fiancé cheated on me I kept getting heart palpitations which I've been told are panic attacks. I haven't seen those in a couple years but I figured it might be worth mentioning as they were very painful

Shingles is actually caused by the chicken pox virus. If you have never had chicken pox, you don't have shingles. If you HAVE had chicken pox, shingles is possible.

I've never heard of "hyper tension stage 2." You either have hypertension or your don't. It's not like diabetes where you can have Type I or Type II Diabetes. Has your doctor tried changing your blood pressure medicine? That would be the first start.

I've had chicken pox before. He referred to them as shingles, and said they were busted vessels. And I've had them for a very long time, most likely since middle-high school when I started to notice my blood pressure problem.

Stage 2 hypertension. More severe hypertension, stage 2 hypertension is a systolic pressure of 160 mm Hg or higher or a diastolic pressure of 100 mm Hg or higher.

I don't really know much about it or what it means.

He upgraded my meds once (to what I listed above) when they were not very effective. I most likely ask him about doing another upgrade but I'd like to know more about what's going on with me and see if there is a known reason for this.
