There's a purple ring around my piercing

Ok so ill have hade my belly pierced 3 weeks in 2 days. It still has just a tiny bit of white pus in it I've been told that's normal. What I'm worried about is this the purple ring right around the hole. It's not big and it looks like a bruise but I'm not sure. Is this normal??
