    Caught shoplifting in singapore
    I was caught shoplifting in singapore I am a foreginer and non-minor 22 age I shoplifted 2 gel eyeliner worth SGD$ 40 the store security caught me and I said I was sorry and ready to pay the amount but they called a police and I was handcuffed and taken to the police station I was caught on Friday around 6 pm and released in bail on Saturday 6 p.m they kept my passport and called me after 2 weeks later and after 2 week I went in bedok police station but they said me nth and extended my case further and again called me after 2 more weeks I am dying here rite now I have no idea whts going on with my case bcoz they say nothing to me I don't know what they are going to do qith me I had a visa till 23 may 2013 but I have to go to bedok police station on 24th may and the officer asked me to go to ICA office for visa. Now I have my return ticket by June 16 2013 will they let me go to my country will they return my passport? Will they give me 1 chance bcoz its my first time in singapore and its my first cirme I have no criminal record in life. M a first offender I am so scared rite now so plzzZ say something because m so clueless. Will they give me jail or some penalties or they will let me go plzz give me some answer

    I have heard that Singapore is very hard on even minor criminals. You need to get a local attorney.

    How do I do that I have no idea here... its my first time in singapore m very scared rite now.

    Ask the court to recommend an attorney or check the phone directories.

    Hello g:

    Go to your embassy and tell them you lost your passport.. When they issue you a temporary one, LEAVE, and NEVER look back.

    It will work if OP isn't flagged yet. In Asian countries the word 'restitiution' doesn't exist for any crime.

    Ya I will never look back to singapire again in my life I have been living nightmares for almost a month but I don't think singapore has my conuntry embassy last time I remember on of my uncle he went to thailand for some passport thing so now I can't even go to thailand godd I am in so trap rite now. Tommoro I have to go to ICA office for visa extension with police report as I don't have passport bedok police station asked me to extend visa now I am so worried that how long they are going to solve this case god damn I am a first time offender in my life and m so sorry and shameful for doing this stupid thing and getting into trouble in foregin country why don't they forgive me and let me go to my country m so scareddd I can't even say or share my problem to any of my relative here in singapore bcoz it will be a great embaressed and shame to my family and myself for life long. Have anyone went through same probkem do anyone know how long they take and what kind of charges are taken for first offender. I have a return ticket with me olredy will they let me go. I don't mind if they baned me for coming singapore again. I will not even have nerve to look back to singapore again m dying everymoment and living horrible nightmare.plz need advice as much as you know everyone
