A Court Order can only be changed by another Court Order. If support was stopped by agreement between the parties or simply not paid, yes, it's still due.

If it was changed by Court Order, no, it is not due.

    What are the circumstances?

The child support was stopped due to the age of 18. But the both the state of California and Nebraska asked for it be stopped. The mother on the other hand wants it to go until he's 18, due to the fact he flunked the 12 grade(and shows he not going to pass it again) and has to repeat it. So now she want it reinstated, but courts in both states want it stopped, can she start it up again? The situation is not positive, because the child was taken from the mother and put in foster care because the child was not going to school. Once in foster care he does better and goes to school, but in her custody he does not, so they are recommending that child support stop.

If California holds jurisdiction over the support issue then by law it will continue until age 19 so long as the child is attending high school. The way it reads is 18 and finished high school or 19 if still in High School.

They made a mistake in dropping it.
