My boyfriend of four years broke up with me almost two months ago. It was not even a week later and he was texting asking me to come hang out. I declined, but for the past 2 months he has been asking me to dinner and movies. He says it's that I am his favorite person to be around and to talk to and that I always will be.

He told me that he was not ready to be back in a relationship and I could either accept that or move on with my life. I chose to move on with my life and I asked him to leave me alone and to stay away from me. It was not even four days he was texting asking me to go to dinner. I don't understand why he is doing this to me if he does not want to be together. Why can't he just leave me alone and let me move on with my life if he doesn't want me?

He also swears that he is not talking or trying to date anyone else he is just not ready for a committed relationship at the moment. Help what should I do and what does he want?

Keep doing what you're doing and move on! He's being selfish--wanting your attention and company without committing and not respecting your desire to leave the relationship in the past.

Don't respond to any of his attempts to connect with you unless you genuinely want to stay friends with him. You are entitled to take care of yourself and your emotions first, not be his companion only to the extent that he wants you to be without considering your wants/needs.

He thought he could get a willing sometime girlfriend with no strings attached when he wanted one but you saw through his ultimatum and told him to leave you alone. In time you will realize that for yourself and be glad you didn't allow his selfish plan to work.

Run!! As fast as u can in the opposite direction. Sounds like either a mental case or a player. You deserve better. People generally want most what is just beyond their reach. After three marriages, I would write him off. Awfully strange how he all of sudden becomes obsessed in keeping you once u let him go. I believe u may have called his bluff. BEWARE!

Me being the one having been through three marriages. Sorry that I didn't clarify that.
