    Tax on inheritance from Germany to USA
    My wife and me are inheriting a sizeable amount of euros from the sale of property
    What or how do I calculate the taxes,The lawyer in Germany,said we could
    Bring into the states 600,000 without being taxed,Not sure what to believe,heard so many different stories?

    That converts to 787,000 USD. Germany has a tax treaty with the US. You had better check with your accountant to negotiate transfers, but I think the lawyer in Germany could be correct.

    There are NO tranfser taxes in the United States.

    You DO have to report the transfer on Form 3520, but it is informational only; no taxes are due.
