Water pressure lower and water dingy.
My water pressure from our facets have declined in the past couple of days.Looking at our inline filter just downstream of the pressure tank is a tan to brown color. If you flush the commode and then take a shower the pressure is probably half of what it used to be.After the shower is turned on and has been running for a couple of minutes the pressure increases but not to the point it once was.I have a.O.Smith model v60 20 gallon pressure tank that is 15 yrs old and we have our own well out in the country. The well pump is in the well 300ft deep. I turned on the outside facet and left it running while I went under the house to monitor the pressure tank. The pressure switch clicked about 3 times in 3minutes while water from hydrant was running. I monitored the gauge just downstream of the switched and I really didn't notice it fluctuating and it stayed right at 40psi the entire time. That is all the troublshooting I did. Could this be the pressure tank or does this sound more like pump trouble. What other troubleshooting should I do? I don't know what the cut in pressure of the pump is nor what size it is.

Sounds like the water table has fallen and you're pulling up dirt making the water brown. If you have 40 PSI coming out of the well and a lose of pressure in the house I w3ould suspect the dirt from the water's clogging your filter. The solution may be to dig the well deeper. Good luck, Tom
