    I might be Canadian
I found out about a year ago that my real father is Canadian. I live in the United States. I had contacted him and about 4 months ago he stopped talking to me. I would like to determine if he really is my father. Do I have any rights to force a paternity test? Do I have any rights as a Canadian? I am 33 and there is no father listed on my birth certificate. I am unfamiliar with Canadian laws. Please advise.

No, you have no "rights" to force another adult to take a paternity test unless/until you take him to Court and the Court issues such an Order. It's almost impossible to get such an Order.

I understand the need to find out about your background, but it would appear that your mother didn't tell you the truth and the possible father does not want contact with you.

What do you hope to accomplish by DNA testing? And, of course, if you do get an Order and you are wrong he could very well turn around and sue you for disrupting his life.
